I finally finished Watchmen last night, and I liked it more than when I started out. I still think it's waaaay over hyped, but much better than The Killing Joke, the only other Alan Moore comic I've read. Anyway, on to the spoilers...
( Nite-Owl is the leader, and he loves to party down! Rorschach's a friend to the animals, 'Yeah, when he's not clowning around!' 'I'M NUTTY!!!!' )
I'm not going to see the movie until after my mom reads, and hopefully she'll read it soon. But anyway, now I can read The Hobbit! Yay!
And I just recently started to listening to Dresden Dolls. I LOVE "Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner". Amazing lyrics, stunning piano, beautiful vocals. What's not to love? "I joke about sex because it's funny when your frightened" is a concept I'm all too familiar with. This seems to be the philosophy all my harassers seem to live by. And here's an amazing Joker/Harley video to the song by redeyedcat:

I have bought too many books this summer. "Too many books? How can you have too many books?" you ask. Well, I am a slow reader. And after I cashed in my graduation checks, I completed my collection of Laurie Halse Anderson YA books. I've got a bunch of comics waiting for me, too. So I'm just gonna make a little list, in order, of what I need to read.
Okay. Frak Eclipse. I'll read that later. I honestly feel my braincells die a little every time I read a "very" or "very much" in those books. (Didn't Mark Twain say something about replacing every "very" with a "damn", so then your publishers will delete it, making the sentence much better or perfect? SMeyer never got that memo.) Finish Watchmen. I've been breezing through it lately, but still not done. Then, The Hobbit, followed by the Lord of the Rings trilogy. At the same tame, probably finish up Scott Pilgrim. Then The Truth About Forever, which I also bought recently. Then Wintergirls. Then maybe Eclipse. Oh yeah, and The Handmaid's Tale. Well, school doesn't start until late September, so... I might be able to do this?

Hey. Yesterday?
I caught a frakking Coelacanth in Animal Crossing: Wild World yesterday.
In case you don't know, it's the rarest of the rarest of the rarest of rare fish in all three AC games. AND I FUCKING CAUGHT IT!!!
YES!!!
And in the same day, I upgraded my house to one of the last upgrades. (The back room.)
I'm loving my new graduation laptop. I've been playing a bunch of City of Heroes. Anyone on my flist play? I'm not too social in MMORPGs, but I'd be happy to team up with someone I know!
(The Coelacanth is also a real fish, like all creatures in the game... Except Dr. Shrunk...)
OH HEY LEVERAGE IS FILMING IN PORTLAND NOW AND I LIVE LIKE UBER CLOSE TO PORTLAND AND I WANT TO SEE THEM FILM AND MEET PARKER AND CHRISTIAN KANE AND EVERYONE AND WIL WHEATON IS IN TOWN RIGHT NOW FILMING AN EPISODE OF LEVERAGE AND OMG SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Oh, and yesterday Teen Titans was on T.V. for the first time in ages!! I miss Teen Titans.
A FEW MORE THINGS: My mom is addicted to Y: The Last Man. And Scott Pilgrim rocks. (Guess who has been to the comic book store recently!)

So, May 14th was my birthday. My 18th birthday! And all I did to celebrate? Went to the comic book store (FINALLY), played some Animal Crossing: City Folk, and saw Star Trek. All things I could do before, although I did look under that "18+" cardboard thing in the back issues at the comic store. Turns out it's just "Heavy Metal." I was expecting porno comics. Like, 100% porn. Geez, THAT'S why you have to be 18 to work there?
I'll post more later, then geekgasm over Star Trek.

It's snowing like MAD outside! This is, according to the news and my dad, the coldest, most snowiest week in 18 years! It's supposed to be snowing ALL WEEK!! The high temp today is 35, but the rest of he week is bellow 30! SQUEEE!!!!!
You see, I live in a low elevated area of Oregon. Near Portland. We don't get snow all that much, let alone snow that sticks. Last year was the first time I had ever witnessed snow on Christmas. It didn't stick, but it was still amazing.
I have mixed feelings on the possibility of school being cancelled tomorrow, though. For one, too many snow days means more school later when we would actually have days off, and second, in Marine Biology we're going to dissect a dogfish tomorrow. I kind of like dissecting. I never thought I would. I got so giddy when I found the chitonous teeth in the crayfish's stomach. XD But, on the other hand, SNOW DAYS!!!!! WOOT!!!!
We got a tree yesterday. The place we go is called Sleigh Bells, and I swear by Odin's Eye, they have the BEST Santa there. He's absolutely AMAZING. He's like the real deal. He's really nice, remembers us (and if he doesn't, he does a great job anyway)... Nicer than any Santa in any Christmas special, ESPECIALLY RUDOLPH, but then again, the Santa in Rudolph was such an asshole... Anyway, he rocks.
Oh, hey, is pomegranate season over now? Like, should I stop looking for good ones now? Damn, I've gotten so addicted to them!
Another random thing that I should probably ask on a Tori Amos community, I saw Comic Book Tattoo at Borders yesterday on our way home from Sleigh Bells, and my Gods it's HUGE!! Is it availabe in a smaller print? I can't carry that thing to school!
SQUEE!!! IT'S STILL SNOWING!!!!!
Oh, my Mythology teacher? The very definition of a "square"...
EDIT:
Here's a picture of my snowy house!

My little brother had to go to the hospital for an intense teeth scrubbing, sealants, and cavity fillings. The whole family went. So I decided to read the comics that have been in my backpack for about a month. I'm waaaaay behind.

My little brother brought up The Spirit movie at dinner tonight, and so we started talking about how horrible a writer Frank Miller is.
My brother suggested the whole movie should be a Rickroll. Miller fans spend 10 bucks, expecting a "good" movie, and during the opening...
WE'RE NO STRANGERS TO LOVE
YOU KNOW THE RULES
AND SO DO I!
That would be awesome.
If you haven't seen the teaser trailer yet, get your stress ball out and follow the link.

Iron Man was VERY awesome!! 8D
Now I've got that Black Sabbath song stuck in my head. Unfortunately, all I know is "I am Iron Man, nananananananana NA NA NA"
Who knew Tony Stark could be such an interesting character? Seriously. Wow. And Robert Downey Jr. was the absolute BEST choice. In looks and acting. (I must admit, and my friend agreed, he was... quite attractive...)
If you haven't seen it yet, you better hurry.
Just imagine how AWESOME Dark Knight will be!!! 8D Which reminds me, I wore my Misfit shirt, and when we stopped at Borders (where I bought "Avengers Disassembled") one guy looked at my shirt and said "I'm guessing you're a Misfit fan." That made me happy, despite my usually uncomfortableness about talking to strangers.
